Motaz Khorshid is a former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt. He held several positions throughout his career, including Minister of State for Scientific Research, Vice President of both Cairo University and British University in Egypt, Chief Technical Advisor for the Socioeconomic Development Planning Support Systems at the United Nations, and Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information at Cairo university.
Khorshid has developed several Social Accounting Matrices (SAM) and Economy-wide Models for several Arab Countries. His research interests focus on Computer Aided Modeling and Decision Support Systems (DSS), Computer Simulation Methodology, Economy-wide Modeling and Analysis, Management of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
He holds doctorates in Computer Sciences and Operations Research, in Management Sciences from Paris University, France, a master’s in Industrial Engineering from Cairo University, and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He has been awarded the “Academic Palm” from the government of France.
