The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation announced the workshops in parallel with the second Emirates Innovation Week
With the second Emirates Innovation Week in full swing, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) announced that the third Knowledge Summit wil include six training workshops featuring the most prominent knowledge experts from around the world.
The full-day events will run from 9:00am to 4:00am, and go on for two or three days each, between December 4 and 8, 2016, at the Grand Hyatt Dubai hotel, where the Foundation – member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives – is holding the Summit on December 5-7, 2016. Bearing the theme “Knowledge… Present and Future”, the Summit tackles a host of knowledge-related topics in a series of sessions over its three-day schedule.
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, said: “These workshops serve to add more value to the Knowledge Summit and develop participants’ skillsets with hands-on learning experiences, directed by some of the world’s most competent knowledge experts. Participants will consequently be able to contribute more efficiently to the creation and dissemination of knowledge and to establishing happy workplaces. This, after all, is the mission and primary objective of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.”
The first workshop – “Managing the Future of Knowledge” – features Dr Tarek Al Rashid, who holds a PhD in civil engineering, as well as several personal and corporate development coaching positions in Italy, Oman, and Singapore, and previously held teaching posts in Dubai. The workshop aims to mould leaders who are skilled at managing knowledge, and who can implement these skills to promote knowledge within their organisations to improve overall performance.
Bearing the title “Foresight”, the second workshop features global expert Peter C. Bishop, Ex-Associated Professor of Strategic Foresight and Director of the Graduate Program in Foresight at the University of Houston, Texas. The workshop focuses on developing three key skills: understanding the future, mapping the future, and influencing the future. Meanwhile, the workshop titled “Innovation Retreat and the Certified Innovation Strategist”, looks to promote the understanding of innovation as a means to develop innovation-driven corporate strategies. The session is led by renowned international innovator and expert Anthony Mills, Executive Director of the US-based Global Innovation Institute (GII), as well as Tarek Naghaway, certified international bilingual trainer with 22 years of experience in leadership and sales development coaching.
Furthermore, a workshop titled “Positive Energy and Its Effects on Employee Happiness” features coaches Rula Al Maayta (certified by the US-based Human Resource Management Institute – HRMI) and Saleh Al Hammouri (certified by the European Foundation for Quality Management – EFQM). The workshop explores positive energy and corporate happiness as concepts, as well as their effects on competitiveness and their potential role in corporate strategies. On another note, “The Future of Public Speaking” workshop touches on subjects such as dealing with audiences and cameras, body language, and how to build the media persona of a public figure. Coaching the workshop is Ammar Shehab, human behaviour specialist and one of only 40 international trainers specialised in subconscious communication and building an audience.
Wrapping up the series, the “Future of Corporate Excellence” workshop features Dr Ahmad Thougan Al Hindawi, expert on excellence and head of the committees to evaluate excellence, former Jordanian Minister of Industry and Commerce, certified by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), and, once more, Saleh Al Hammouri. The workshop explores different models for government excellence, delving deep into their components, and formulating mechanisms to evaluate government excellence.
The Knowledge Summit is an annual event organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Summit features the announcement of the Arab Reading Index results, as well as announcing the winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award, which honours individuals who’ve made outstanding contributions to the dissemination and production of knowledge around the world. A spectrum of events and workshops will also be organised on the sidelines of the summit – most important of which will be a number of specialised workshops.
