This is the second in a series of symposia on the future of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) which will address the challenges facing the area of ESD in relation to the changes taking place in the world. It will call upon experts in related disciplines to ESD, such as behavioural psychologists, economists, engineers and political scientists as well as experts on sustainable development education.
The experts are expected to debate on the broad theme of education and sustainable development, what the former can do for the latter, and how the latter can be formulated better in the future by the former, beyond the current specificities of UNESCO’s ESD work. The discussion is to be visionary, critical and practical, taking into account concrete realities.
