Are you an ambitious youth keen to develop your skills and contribute to building a brighter future for Kuwait? Join us at Kuwait Knowledge Journey, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) in partnership with the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development (GSSCPD) in Kuwait.

Objectives

  • Empowering Kuwaiti youth with leadership and future-oriented skills to drive digital transformation and contribute to long-term sustainable national development, in line with the Third National Development Plan and Kuwait Vision 2035.
  • Promote dialogue between youth and decision-makers, and strengthen public-private collaboration to foster innovation and a knowledge-based economy.
  • Employ data-driven insights into decision-making to shape strategies that enhance Kuwait's knowledge economy.

What are the stops of Kuwait Knowledge Journey?

Kuwait Knowledge Journey is divided into stops designed to prepare participants for workshops and dialogues with decision makers.

  1. Stop 1: 22 October 2024

    Focused on analyzing and understanding the current state of the knowledge landscape in Kuwait, and reviewing the results of the Global Knowledge Index 2023. For full details, read the article here.

  2. Stop 2: 5-6 February 2025
    • 5 February: Explored research, development, and innovation (RDI) as transformative drivers in the global knowledge economy, with attention to information and communication technology (ICT) and cross-regional collaboration.
    • 6 February: Discussed the sectors related to education, emphasizing lifelong learning and vocational training as critical pillars of a knowledge economy.
    Note: Interested participants are welcome to join us for Knowledge Week, even if they were unable to attend Stops 1 and 2 of the event.
  3. Stop 3 – Knowledge Week: 20-24 April 2025

    This five-day event consolidates workshop insights from previous sessions. Participants will present proposals and actionable roadmaps to policymakers.

Qualifications and participation requirements

We invite young people in Kuwait, including those with disabilities, who are interested in data analysis, policymaking, and developing innovative solutions to current challenges, to apply.

  • Educational requirement: High school diploma as a minimum.
  • Age range: 18 to 29 years.
  • Nationality: Kuwaiti or with a permanent residency in Kuwait.
